HSNNY and Honeywell Collaborate to Improve Patient Care
Health Services of Northern New York (HSNNY) announced today that they are collaborating with Honeywell HomMed to implement a comprehensive telehealth solution designed to streamline HSNNY’s employee workflows and improve overall patient care.
Honeywell HomMed will provide the equipment and training of new tablet-like devices that will allow HSNNY to provide digital and remote monitoring of their most at-risk patients on a 24/7 basis. These devices, called Genesis Touch™ empower patients to take part in their own care by sending alerts when it is time to check their vital statistics. Each tablet is connected to a blood pressure cuff, a forefinger sensor that measures blood oxygen as well as a scale to monitor the patient’s weight. The tablet will also ask the patient a series of “yes” or “no” questions. If the results of the daily “check-up” are a cause for concern, a nurse is immediately alerted.
“We are very excited about this new partnership with Honeywell which gives us the ability to monitor our patients more closely and with more frequency,” said Matthew D. O’Bryan, Administrator of Health Services of Northern New York. “In addition, I have already heard from Canton-Potsdam Hospital who has expressed support for this new technology as it will keep their patients from being unnecessarily hospitalized. We are thrilled to be the first home health care agency in our service area to utilize this type of advanced technology to monitor and care for our patients.”
“Honeywell HomMed is committed to providing our customers with the best solutions in telehealth monitoring,” said John Bojanowski, president of Honeywell HomMed. “We look forward to our continued collaboration with Health Services of Northern New York, working together to improve patient care and outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs through enhanced workflow efficiencies.”
